A Global Positioning System Based Low Cost Vehicle Tracking System Design and Application

چکیده

In this study, a GPS based vehicle tracking system which has lower cost than similar systems in the market is improved and realized. The system has been tested in Uludag University Campus and the positions of mobile vehicles have been observed with high accuracy from the control center. In this project GM 300 analog two-way radio is used for the communication between mobile vehicles and the control center. Wireless data communication is established by using FSK modulation technique. FSK modulated signal has transmitted through audio frequency band and 1200 baud date transfer rate achieved. Since two way radio devices which is used in the proposed system, are already available in most of vehicles in traffic, there is no need to use extra mobile communication devices for data communication. Therefore system costs has reduced although a good accuracy positioning system has realized.
